Decorated cane tray

Yesterday I sat down and tried making flowers out of bread after a long time. One of my friends had gifted me chocolates on this cane tray which I had retained to work on it later. So I thought I will make a flowery wall plate out of it. 

For doing the bread craft, the method of making dough is almost the same as cornflower flowers. You just have to use bread in place of cornflower and no need of heating to make the dough. 

Be careful to wrap it in plastic as it dries fast.

Just keep making the flowers and arranging on whatever you want.Varnish in the end to give a glaze, which is still awaited in my work.

Traditional painting in Mixed Media

What I  feel is that most of Indian artists are inspired by Rajasthani folk art.I am one of them. 

The painting is in mixed media. The base is a canvas board. The lady was drawn first. The rest of the background was done in POP. A  base was created by me in Plaster of Paris. Cone work was done in the background using a much thicker mixture. 

Now the whole picture was painted using Artist Acrylic Paints. You have to work fast as the paint dries very fast. 

Now the jewellery was created using the same paints filled in a cone. Along with this, even Gold outliner for glass painting was used. 

Now the painting was ready but to give a shine, hot ceremic was done in the end to protect the picture from dust.

To give it a complete Rajasthani finish, a frame from the same region was used.

Lady on Glass

I  wanted to combine my fashion designing skills along with my passion for paintings and the result was this picture I got.

This is on the similar ground as the Reverse Mirror Painting done by me a few days back. The items in the picture that you see first, are to be done first and everything else follows. A few things to be remembered are, your work should be very neat, like starting with the outlining itself, all lines should be with the same intensity and while filling colours, they should not run out of the shape required.

The colour that you use in the end as filler should be thick enough that the whole painting brightens up.

Frame the end painting in the most innovative way to make it spectacular.

 

Ganesha Sketch

For any kind of pencil sketching, the initial requirement are pencils of variouus kinds. The initial drawing is done with an HB pencil and the details are put using HB pencils of higher intensity.

I would like to share this secret with you, the areas of darkness are done using the highest intensity shade as you can see under Ganesha's right arm and around the ears.

Just keep on using your imagination and doing any amount of work on the sketch you want to draw.

The result is really going to be spectacular. All the best and keep going.

Ganesha in Acrylics

I was working in oils earlier but now thought of working in Acrylics. This medium works in the same way as posters. But you have to be fast enough to finish as they dry very fast.

The painting is done on a canvas cloth. First of all a very light sketch was made by me. After that, the first thing to be painted was the background which was just done free hand.

After this, the Ganesha was painted. The white part was kept really clean and the work on it was done in the end.

To give a little drama, the ornaments were done with the gold filled in a cone. In the same way, a few other things like the leaves on the top and the shawl worn by the deity were again done using the same acrylic paint done in a cone.

A few things to remember - Pay attention to the eyes and the initial drawing of the figure. This gives a magical result to your final picture which is framed in the end to give a positive result.

Relief work Painting

This relief work painting is done on a ply board.

It is an inspiration from the carvings done on the walls of temples and palaces. The board is prepared by putting a base. Then the design is copied on it. Steps of embossing is done using cone work. The amount of embossing depends on the kind of work the user wants to do.

The final step is the painting done on it using the colours of your choice.

Finally the picture is framed and a beautiful creation is formed.

Mughal Mirror

Painting on glass.

I got this idea from the Mughal paintings and clubbed my idea with their exquisite use of mirrors.

The mercury side of the mirror is first removed from the reverse side which converts a part of the mirror into glass. Now starts the painting on this glass portion from the reverse side.

The end result after framing is a beautiful Mughal Mirror.
